Whitechurch is situated approximately 6 km north of Cork city off the Mallow Road (N20). To get here from the city, take the N20 through the Commons Road and Killeens. Pass the Slip road on your left for Blarney (R617) and Waterloo. After that, take the next right, signposted for Whitechurch and you will go under a railway bridge. Carry on for approx. 1 km until you come to a junction where you turn right on to the old Mallow Road, go a short distance and take the next left. Travel along this road for another kilometre and you will see the courts on your left. If you pass the school, then you have missed it. The courts are through the gates of the community centre and you should see the tennis lights from the road.
The club has four synthetic 'Tiger Turf Advantage' courts. These courts were developed in 2010 with the help of Castlelands Construction and Whitechurch & Waterloo Community Association. Theses courts replace 2 synthetic courts, which were originally tarmac and built in 1986. The club has grown from strength to strength from a very small membership to a vibrant and active club with tennis coaching for both adults and children.
We run approx. 6 closed competitions for adults during the year and a rota system operates in the club where each member is matched with three others to play doubles at a particular hour each week. One of the group acts as co-ordinator and each rota player gets a sub if unable to play. As a result, most of the four courts are booked up from Mon. To Fri 7 to 10 p.m.
